Students will reunion with mom, dad and the rest of the family this weekend as Capital University hosts Winter Family Weekend Friday, February 1, through Sunday, February 3.

Friday, February 1
5-8 pm: Check-in and Registration
Stop by the Post Office Lobby of Harry C. Moores Campus Center registration so you can get special tickets, information, coupons and more for the weekend at Capital.
5-8 pm: Dinner on Your Own
Experience one of our amazing restaurants in Bexley or Columbus. Check out your registration packet for suggestions.
8 pm: Ice Cream Social
Join us in Schneider Student Lounge, located in the Campus Center, for a good old fashion sundae with all the fixings.
9 pm: Illusionist Michael Kent
Capital University will present comedian and magician Michael Kent in Huntington Recital Hall. Kent invites his audience to laugh with him at the absurdity of a modern-day magician. He combines his sarcastic sense of humor with mind-blowing magic in a way that seems to let the audience “in on the joke.” Kent, who calls Columbus home, has won the love of audience all over the country.
Saturday, February 2
9-11 am: Check-in and Registration
For our guest unable to check in on Friday evening, please stop by registration in the Post Office Lobby of the Campus Center so we can give you special tickets, information, coupons, and more for your weekend with us at Capital.
9 to 11 am: Continental Breakfast
Join us in Schneider Student Lounge for some delicious breakfast treats baked fresh by Parkhurst Dining Services, right here on campus.
10 am: Meet and Greet with Capital University Administration
One of the best things about Capital is that our administration is involved in tons of campus activities- from serving ice cream to students to emceeing exam treat breaks. So it’s no surprise they’ll be joining us to greet you and your family during the continental breakfast in Schneider Student Lounge.
10 am to 1 pm: Craft Room and Photo Booth
Is there a creative streak in your family? Do you want to work on a project together? If so, stop Schneider Multipurpose Room in the Campus Center and see all the craft options. While you’re there, don’t forget to jump in the photo booth to capture your Family Weekend memories on film.
11 am to noon: Pancake and Sausage Brunch Featuring the Flipping Talents of Chris Cakes
Bring your appetite and stop by Schneider Multipurpose Room and experience Chris Cakes’ amazing pancake flipping skills. Chris Cakes has been featured on the Food Network and has served four presidents. Don’t miss this all-you-care-to-eat pancake and sausage brunch party.
10 am to 1 pm: North Market Shuttle
Columbus’s North Market is home to dozens of unique, independent merchants and farmers who deliver personal and personable service! Besides experiencing the eclectic group of merchants at Columbus’ only public market, enjoy live music from 11 am to 1 pm. Shuttles will leave from the Campus Center’s Post Office Lobby at 10 am, 11 am or noon and return at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm)
10 am to 4 pm: Shuttles to Easton
Just a few minutes from Capital’s campus, Easton Town Center offers a dynamic mix of premier shopping, dining and entertainment. It’s hard to get bored with all there is to experience at Easton. All shuttles will leave from the Harry C. Moores Campus Center Post Office Lobby at 10 am, noon and 2 pm and return at 12:30, 2:30 and 4 pm.
11 am: Admissions Presentation and Tour
Does your current Capital student have a sibling who’s looking at colleges? Do you want to learn a little bit more about campus and the admission process? Stop by the Admission and Welcome Center and take advantage of this great opportunity to get your questions answered.
1 to 2:15 pm: Statehouse Tour
Columbus is the capital cities of Ohio, and the Ohio Statehouse, located nearby in downtown Columbus, is more than a government building. It is a monument to the past and a place where history is made every day. Join us for a guided tour. The shuttle will leave from the Campus Center Post Office Lobby.
1 to 4 pm: Capital Carnival
It’s time to burn some energy! Come to The Capital Center Field House and have some fun a variety of inflatables and the ROTC rock climbing wall. Get an awesome balloon animal and have some snacks.
1 to 5 pm: Student Art
Capital University’s Student Art Exhibition is on display at The Schumacher Gallery, located on the top floor of Blackmore Library. This multimedia, juried exhibition showcases a variety of works created by the students of Capital University.
2 pm: Men’s Basketball vs. John Carroll
Come to The Capital Center Performance Arena and cheer on the Crusaders as they take on John Carroll.
4:45 to 7 pm: Dinner
Join us in the Capital Court from 4:45 to 6 pm for dinner, or try one of our amazing restaurants in Bexley or Columbus. Check out your registration packet for suggestions!
7 pm: Live Clue
Everyone loves the board game Clue, and we’re bringing it to life for you. Come to Schneider Multipurpose Room and find out who is the best detective in your family.
9 pm: Comedy Club
Time to laugh the night away. Join us in the Mezz, located in the Campus Center, for “mocktails,” appetizers, and a comedian that will have you in stitches.
Sunday, February 3
We invite you to join us directly across the street from Capital at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 2314 E. Main St., for a Sunday worship service Choose from the traditional service at 8 am or 11:15 am, or a contemporary service at 9:15 am. Then come back to campus for brunch in the Capital Court from 11:30 am to 1:15 pm.
