The next American Idol could go to Hollywood by way of Columbus as Capital University has been selected as one of 11 sites nationwide for the AMERICAN IDOL XIV Audition Bus Tour.
The tour will make its way to Capital’s main campus, located at 1 College and Main in Bexley, on Saturday, July 12, as part of its East Coast swing. The closest tour stop outside of Columbus is 477 miles away in Richmond, Va. Other tour stops include Portland, Ore.; Portland, Maine; Reno, Nev.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Amarillo, Texas; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Branson, Mo.; Tallahassee, Fla.; Richmond, Va.; and Kansas City, Mo.
Auditions at Capital will take place from 9 am to 5 pm on the plaza by Reflections fountains, with Mees Hall as a possible rain location. Parking is available in designated campus lots. Follow the signs for parking and lineup locations. View a campus map (PDF).
Men and women 15-28 years old as of June 1, 2014, who are eligible to work in the U.S., are invited to audition. Some restrictions apply. Check www.americanidol.com daily for specific information, such as what to bring to audition, and new event details as they become final.
