Students, faculty and staff are invited to join Athletics and Recreation for a watch party at noon Friday, December 6, in The Capital Center Performance Arena, as Capital University women's soccer team takes on No. 3 William Smith (N.Y.) in an NCAA Division III Tournament semifinal.
The match will be played at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas, and streamed live in the Performance Arena, where Capital's official watch party will convene the Cap Family — students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to cheer on the Crusaders as their historic NCAA tournament run continues.
Refreshments will be available at the concession stand in the lobby. Students will be able to use a meal swipe for a "combo" meal at the stand.
The Crusaders are making their first-ever appearance in the NCAA semifinals. Under the direction of third-year coach Chris Kouns, Capital has a school-record 19 wins in 2013 entering play this weekend.
With a win Friday, the Crusaders advance to the national championship match, which is scheduled for 2:30 pm Saturday. The winner of Friday's match takes on the winner of the No. 13 Middlebury (Vt.)-No. 2 Trinity (Texas) semifinal match. Details for a possible watch party will be made available following Friday's game.
