Peer Tutoring: Building in study time is the first step to academic success

    CRLA Logo

Peer Tutoring is a free service provided by the office of Academic Success that can help you succeed. You’ll learn to read more closely, write more critically and think more effectively.

Individual and group tutoring begins the first day of classes each semester. To schedule an appointment, stop in to Academic Success on the second floor of the Blackmore Library, or call us at 236-6327. Students can also easily search for tutors and appointment times by logging onto TutorTrac at tutortrac.capital.edu. Just use your current Capital username and password to log in and click on Search Availabilities.

You can also attend one of our regularly scheduled Study and Review sessions. These course-specific sessions are designed to give you more opportunities for study, review and test prep. You can drop in on these sessions – no appointment needed. Courses, dates and times vary from one semester to the next, so contact the Academic Success office for more information.

    Free Online Tutoring

Academic Success participates in the Ohio eTutoring Collaborative to provide free online tutoring in accounting, algebra, calculus, anatomy/physiology, biology, chemistry, math, physics, psychology,  statistics, and writing. To get started:

    1. Visit www.etutoring.org and click the Login now button.
    2. Select Ohio eTutoring Collaborative from the list that appears, then pick Capital University from the drop-down menu.
    3. Log in with your Capital username and your seven-digit Capital student ID number preceded by "Cap" for your password (for example, Cap1234567).
    4. Make sure Student is selected, then click the Sign In button.

You can then check this week's and next week's schedule for an eChat session (live, real-time interaction with an online eTutor in the subjects listed), submit an eQuestion (and receive a response from an online eTutor), or upload a paper to the Online Writing Lab for review (note that there is a 1- to 2-day turnaround for submitted papers).
