Accelerated BSN Program
  • Have you completed a bachelor’s or graduate degree in a non-nursing field, but desire to have a career in nursing? If yes, then this program is for you! Our Accelerated BSN Program takes just 20 months to complete on a traditional full-time schedule.

Our program consists of five consecutive 15-week semesters, including a 13-week summer term. Through strong partnerships with area health care systems, we immerse students in clinical work immediately— giving you hands-on patient experience in your first semester on campus.

Capital's reputation for excellence in nursing education fosters the growth of future nurse leaders. We take pride in graduating confident clinicians who are focused on holistic practice. To prepare you, we have designed our curriculum to include three master’s-level courses. These courses are the core of our Master's of Science in Nursing program and allow you to learn among nurse leaders in the community.

As accelerated nursing programs grow in popularity, the admission process comes with heighten competition. In order to establish yourself as a strong candidate, we encourage you to have the majority of science prerequisites completed so your grades are available for faculty review at the time of application. We require a B+ average (2.75) in your Microbiology, Anatomy, and Physiology; and a cumulative 3.0 GPA from all previous course work. While grades are important, we are looking for a well-rounded student with a strong passion for nursing and a comprehensive understanding of this program. As part of the admission process, we do offer an interview invitation to a select number of applicants each year.
