Conservatory of Music To Present Gian-Carlo Menotti’s 'The Consul' April 12-13

News-The-Consul-175Capital University's Conservatory of Music will present Gian-Carlo Menotti's The Consul April 12-13 at the Leo Yassenoff Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, 1125 College Avenue. Premiered in March 1950, The Consul was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music and the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for best musical play that year.

A stirring, exciting musical drama written in the late 1940s, but every bit as relevant today, The Consul tells the painful story of war, civil division, sectarian infighting and the daily fight for life of the loving families caught in the middle. Read a synopsis here.

Produced and directed by Mark Baker and conducted by William Boggs, the production will feature performances by:

Saturday's performance will be given at 8 pm, and Sunday's matinee will take place at 2 pm. General admission is $20.
