Long term disability insurance is provided by Unum. LTD is designed to provide long term compensation to employees who, due to disability, are prevented from being actively employed. After a six-month qualifying period, the plan pays qualified disabled employees 66 2/3% of the employee’s base monthly wages up to a maximum of $7,000 per a month.
Active three-quarter time or greater employees are entitled to the group policy.
The University will continue making premium payments as long as the employee is in active pay status or approved paid leave status. If the employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, please contact Human Resources for information.
