There are additional benefits that come from working in a university setting as well as working in a caring community. Below are some of the added benefits that are available to employees of the University, including special offers and discounts offered by many of the businesses around the University. To take advantage of these offers, identify yourself as a Capital University employee. You may also be required to show your Capital University ID card.
Employees and their immediate family members (with a valid family member Capital ID) are encouraged to attend Capital’s sporting events throughout the year. There is no charge for regular-season games.
Employees enjoy special banking privileges at participating financial institutions. Visit these banks/credit unions for more information.
Employees receive a 10 percent discount on clothing and novelty items at the bookstore on main campus (some exclusions may apply).
The Capital Center is a 126,000-square-foot recreational and athletic complex that includes basketball courts, indoor/outdoor tracks, football field, extensive fitness center and much more. Employees and their immediate family members (with a valid Capital ID) are welcome to utilize The Capital Center and other athletic facilities located on campus, including the tennis courts, volleyball courts and soccer fields.
Central Ohio Employee Services and Recreation Association (COESRA) and Employee Services Management Association (ESM) are programs that provide programs and services at discounted rates. Some of their current promotions include savings on cars, flowers, hotels, and cell phone services as well as discounts on various entertainment attractions such as Kings Island, Columbus Crew, COSI, and the Columbus Zoo. Located on the top floor of Blackmore Library, the art gallery includes a permanent collection of works from recognizable artists and special exhibitions throughout the year. There is no charge for admission and employees are encouraged to visit.
Faculty and staff are welcome to attend Capital’s theatre and musical events throughout the year for free with their university ID.
Employees are eligible to receive discounts on products and services offer by Verizon Wireless. Current promotions include saving 10% on your wireless calling plan and discounts on phones and a wide selection of accessories. Simply inform a Verizon representative that you are a Capital University employee and that you are eligible for their employee discount program.
