If you’re a registered nurse with an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing, Capital can get you on the fast track to an advanced degree.
We start with our flexible and convenient BSN Completion program, but allowing you to take courses that will transfer for graduate credit. Then you can move in to our MSN program with a head start.
Already have a bachelor’s degree in another field? Registered nurses with a degree in another discipline can still take the fast track to an MSN degree.
Criteria for Entry
To get started on the fast track, you‘ll need:
- Admission to BSN-completion program
- Credit for N315 and N402 with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better
- An advisor recommendation to the Graduate Committee
MSN Fast Track During BSN Completion
Up to 3 of the following graduate courses (9 semester hours) may be taken while finishing the BSN program:
- N500 - Advanced Statistics
- N510 - Nursing Theories
- N520 - Nursing Research
- N530 - Nursing Informatics
Undergraduate credit is given as follows:
- N500 - Statistics (Psych 210 or Math 211 or Math 215)
- N510 - Elective Credit
- N520 - Nursing Research (N411)
- N530 - Elective Credit
Upon admission to the graduate program, all N500 level courses transfer for graduate credit.
Admission to the MSN Program
- Completion of a BSN program
- Current Ohio RN licensure
- Minimum overall 3.0 GPA in graduate courses and a minimum of B in each graduate course
- Writing sample
- Resume
- Completed application
- Three professional references
