  • Saylor-Ackermann Hall (First Year and Upperclass Living)

    Saylor-Ackermann HallSaylor-Ackermann Hall houses 250 students with both first year and upper class residents. This hall houses our Healthy Choices Cluster.
    In Saylor-Ackermann Hall, most rooms are doubles, however some triple rooms are available, with community restrooms and shower facilities on each floor. Each bedroom comes tiled and furnished with a standard size mattress and bed frame, built in dresser (in Saylor or a wardrobe in Ackermann), desk, and desk chair. Each floor has a community study room, a microwave and wireless internet access. Blinds are provided for all windows.

    Individual rooms have wireless internet access, data ports that include cable TV, Ethernet, and telephone jacks for local phone service. There are coin-free washers and dryers located on the ground level and a computer lounge with community printer. The Cru Brew Café (featuring Starbucks coffee, smoothies, and grab and go goodies) and the SA Lounge (a large lounge space with wireless access, computers, working fire place, and large screen TV) is also located in Saylor-Ackermann.

    Lohman Complex (SS) (First-Year Living)

    Lohman ComplexThe Lohman Complex, houses 424 first year students and incorporates Schoedinger, Setterlin, Bremer and Geiger Halls. Rooms come in double, triple, and quad occupancy styles, with community bathrooms and shower facilities on each floor. Each bedroom comes tiled and furnished with a standard size mattress and bed frame, built in dresser, desk, and desk chair. Blinds are provided for all windows.

    The ground level features a large furnished community room. Several recognized student organizations have rooms on the ground level. Microwaves are also provided on each floor.

    The Lohman Complex has wireless internet access, and each individual room has data ports with cable TV, Ethernet, and telephone jacks for local phone service. The hall also has coin-free washers and dryers, and a computer lounge with community printer.

    Cotterman Hall (First-Year and Upperclass Living)

    Cotterman HallCotterman Hall houses 136 students, most of whom are participants in our Honors Program. The floor plan is unique to Capital, with eight to twelve individual rooms opening directly into a common living area. 
    Each living area contains a large lounge area and kitchenette. Microwaves are also provided on each floor. Most bedrooms are double occupancy and all are air conditioned (some singles are available), with community restrooms and shower facilities. Each bedroom comes tiled and furnished with an extra long standard size mattress and bed frame, built in dresser, desk, and desk chair. Blinds are provided for all windows. 

    Cotterman Hall has wireless internet access, and each individual room has data ports with cable TV, Ethernet, and telephone jacks for local phone service. The hall also has coin-free washers and dryers, and a computer lounge with community printer.

    College Avenue Hall (Upper-class Living)

    College Avenue Residence Hall is a suite-style residence hall for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The building houses 94 students with students living in a variety of room configurations, ranging from 4 to 6 residents.College Avenue

    Each suite consists of one or more bathrooms, depending upon the size of the suite, kitchenette area with microwave, furnished common room with tile floor, and combinations of single and/or double rooms. Each bedroom is tiled and furnished with an extra long mattress and bed frame, dresser, desk, and desk chair. Blinds are provided for all windows.

    The suites also have wireless internet access, data ports with cable TV, Ethernet, and telephone jacks for local phone service. In addition the hall has study rooms, conference rooms, and community activity areas. The hall also has coin-free washers and dryers located on the ground level.

    Capital Commons ApartmentsCapital Commons Apartment (For Juniors/Seniors only)

    The Capital Commons Apartments are a residential living area for juniors and seniors located less than one block from campus. Each of the 24 apartments can house from 3 to 4 residents, with the option of either a furnished two-double bedroom rooms or three-single bedrooms. Bedrooms are carpeted, and furnished with a standard twin mattress and bed frame, a dresser, desk, and desk chair.

    Each apartment contains a full bathroom and kitchen which includes a refrigerator and oven/range, and a washer and dryer are provided. There is also a large carpeted living room and dining room area in each apartment to be furnished by the residents. Blinds are provided for all windows.

    Each apartment has wireless internet access, data ports with cable TV access, Ethernet, telephone jacks with local phone service, and utilities are included. There is reserved parking for residents, a large lawn, and community beach volleyball court included. Residents living in the Capital Commons Apartments are not required to be on the meal plan.

    Residents of the Capital Commons Apartments must have an academic standing at or above 60 credit hours (academic juniors and seniors) at the time of occupancy. Residents must have no record of serious disciplinary violations and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.750.

    Capital University Apartments (For Juniors/Seniors only)

    The Capital University Apartments are available to juniors and seniors and are located approximately two blocks from the campus, providing residents with a unique off-campus experience. The apartments are housed in one single building, on three floors, with ten apartments per floor.

    Each of the 30 apartments, can house two to three residents in two carpeted bedrooms with two bathrooms. The Capital University Apartments feature fully furnished and carpeted living rooms (sofa & chair), dining areas (dining table and chairs provided), and bedrooms (extra long mattress and bed frame, desk, desk chair, two drawer dresser, and bookshelf). Full kitchens including refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, balcony access, and washer and dryer are provided. Blinds are provided for all windows.

    Each apartment has wireless internet access, data ports with cable TV access and Ethernet, and utilities are included. The building also features an elevator and a large common room with a kitchen and flat screen TV. Each resident has a reserved parking space and shuttle runs daily between the Apartments and main campus. Residents living in the Capital University Apartments are not required to be on the meal plan.

    Residents of the Capital University Apartments must have an academic standing at or above 60 credit hours (academic juniors and seniors) at the time of occupancy. Residents must have no record of serious disciplinary violations and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.750. Students have the option of a 9 or 12 month lease for the Capital University Apartments.

    Schaaf Hall (Upper-class Living)

    Schaaf HallLocated next to the campus center, Schaaf Hall houses 358 upper class students (sophomores, junior and seniors) including several group housing clusters for student groups or organizations. In Schaaf Hall, most rooms are double occupancy, however singles are also available.

    Each bedroom comes tiled furnished with a standard size mattress and bed frame, built in dresser, desk, and desk chair. Each floor features community restrooms and shower facilities. Blinds are provided for all windows.

    The second and third floors have two furnished study/lounge areas with microwaves. Portions of the building are air conditioned with many rooms overlooking a courtyard area. Several recognized student organizations have rooms on the ground level.

    The lobby area of Schaaf hall includes microwave, a variety of couches and chairs, a pool table, and a foosball table. Individual rooms have data ports that include cable TV, Ethernet, and telephone jacks for local phone service. There are coin-free washers and dryers located on the ground level and a computer lounge with community printer.

    Sheridan Avenue Apartments

    Located less than one block from campus at 651, 701, & 707 Sheridan Avenue, the apartment's house between 2 and 3 students. The apartments at 701 & 707 are one bedroom, two person units, while the apartments at 651 are two bedroom, three person units. Each apartment offers fully furnished living, dining and bedrooms. Each apartment comes standard with a full kitchen and access to shared washing/drying facilities.

    Each apartment has wireless internet access, data ports with cable TV access, and utilities are included. Residents living in the Sheridan Avenue Apartments are not required to be on the meal plan.

    Residents of the Sheridan Avenue Apartments must have an academic standing at or above 60 credit hours (academic juniors and seniors) at the time of occupancy. Residents must have no record of serious disciplinary violations and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.750.

    Sheridan Avenue Houses

    Located less than one block from campus at 614, 621, 657, 675, 727, 732/734, 735/737, 741/743, 754/756, and  760/762 Sheridan Avenue, the houses have between 4 and 5 residents. The houses at 657 & 727 are three bedroom, five person units, while the remaing houses are three bedrooms, four person unnits.  Each house offers fully furnished living, dining and bedrooms. Each house comes standard with a full kitchen and access to shared washing/drying facilities.

    Each house has wireless internet access, data ports with cable TV access, and utilities are included. Residents living in the Sheridan Avenue houses are not required to be on the meal plan.

    Residents of the Sheridan Avenue houses must have an academic standing at or above 60 credit hours (academic juniors and seniors) at the time of occupancy. Residents must have no record of serious disciplinary violations and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.750.
