First-Year Student Orientation
  • Welcome to the Capital University Class of 2017

We are excited about your participation in the Summer 2013 Orientation program and have designed a program to:

    • Introduce you to college life and academic expectations
    • Register you for classes
    • Answer your financial questions
    • Showcase the dining experience
    • Introduce you to other students
    • Introduce you to the faculty and staff
    • Prepare your parents or guardians for the transition
    • Show you how fun your Capital University experience will be

Summer Orientation is mandatory for all new students and the sessions are designed to help you successfully transition to the University. The summer orientation program is free to students and their first two guests, but there is a charge of $30.00 for each additional guest/parent. Fees for any additional guests are due the morning of Orientation registration. These fees are payable by cash or check only.

You will be receiving information about an online Math Placement exam. You will need to complete this exam prior to attending your orientation session since it will be used to assign you to the appropriate math class. All students will also need to complete an online Modern Languages Assessment exam. Information about this exam will be sent with your confirmation email.

Summer Orientation 2013 dates (sessions are limited to 130 students)

Orientation days start as early as 8 am for those who need to take a placement exam, but will end by 5 pm for everyone. Please plan accordingly so you will be able to get the most out of your visit. There is a separate program for parents and guardians to answer their questions and help with the transition of their students.
